Physical Description of Character: Tamaki has blond hair and deep blue eyes that on some days can be considered purple. His skin complexion has a nice mixture to it, for he is not extremely tan or extremely pale. He has a nice medium. Tamaki is also rather tall, though nothing exceeding over six feet.

Tamaki's clothing style can considered to be very snappy, and fancy. Being rich, Tamaki could always afford in buying extravagant clothing. Though, however, in high school this changed when he met Haruhi Fujioka. He was able to see that 'commoner clothing' was quite appreciable and also, very comfortable too. Now-a-days, Tamaki buys both very expensive clothing to very cheap clothing.
Personality: Because of Tamaki's upbringing in wealth one would think that Tamaki is a spoiled, ungrateful child. Though that is quite the opposite, Tamaki is well-mannered and grateful for anything he obtains. During his years in high school he bluntly stated that people of the middle classes were viewed as 'commoners'. Not that Tamaki was trying to be rude, or spiteful; it was just something he grew used to saying.

Tamaki is, and can be very charming, almost narcissistic. He views all girls beautiful and elegant. He is not to be considered a playboy as he simply feels pure love and admiration for women. Though, he can be extremely dense upon realizing his feelings. However, this isn't to be confused with his keen eye for detail and people perceptiveness. He has very acute observation when it involves others around him. He has a simple understanding of people and can easily empathize to them on a certain (almost scary) degree.

Upon hearing a problem that is presented to him, Tamaki can be easily moved by the story or request and often enough is put to tears by the end of it. And as soon as he gets an idea for the situation, he will help you almost immediately. He has no qualms in helping anybody out (though, he tends to be a little precautious if they physically or emotionally threaten to harm anyone he cares for) because he sees that everyone has good intentions from the start.

Tamaki can also be considered a walking contradiction. He is extremely smart (smart enough to be ranked second in high school) though is extremely naïve. He can be very curious over anything, but especially over things that are new to him (such as commoner settings).

Tamaki can also give motivational (though, somewhat lengthy) speeches. The one thing about his speeches is that he fully and wholeheartedly means everything. No façade or white lies are even hinted at as everything said comes from him genuinely. Tamaki is and can be a very sweet and caring guy, when he stops being obsessive that is.
History: Tamaki is half French, half Japanese. His father, Yuzuru Suou married a woman whom his mother had picked out for him. But on a trip to France, Yuzuru met and fell in love with a woman there. He later divorced his wife before Tamaki was born.

Yuzuru's mother however, was not accepting of the idea. And she downright refused, inevitably leaving Tamaki to live all alone with his sickly mother in Paris. Tamaki lived a peaceful, quiet life living with his mother. Though, he was too young to fully comprehend the horrible debt that his mother had gotten into.

Tamaki was closer to his mother then Yuzuru (who visited whenever he had the chance – which often times brought Tamaki to the point of tears and sometimes wetting his pants with joy). Tamaki spent most of his childhood taking care of his mother and cheering her up with his piano tunes that he grew up without many friends. He was however unfazed by it as he was overjoyed to be with his mother.

Sensing the horrible debt that Tamaki's mother had gotten into, Yuzuru's mother had developed a plan that would solve the debt and bring the only Suou heir to Japan. Because of his strong love for his mother, Tamaki accepted his grandmother's idea and moved – even though it meant cutting off all connection to his mother from then on.

And because of his grandmother's hate towards his mother, Tamaki was forced into living in a different mansion, rather then staying in the same one as his father was. She even went so far as to say that he couldn't touch her because he was "filthy". But despite this, Tamaki's attitude towards families isn't sour at all. In fact he has a certain respect for it.

Tamaki slowly started making friends in junior high. At first he befriended Kyouya Ootori, a rival to the Suou family. Though their friendship started off quite rocky, they now respect each other. He soon later befriended Haninozuka Mitsukuni and Morinozuka Takashi, and later told Hunny that he didn't have to lie to himself if he didn't feel right with it or himself.

Towards the end of middle school Tamaki befriended the Hitachiin twins and asked if they would join his Host Club so they wouldn't feel isolated and alone.

A year into high school the Host Club was formed and it appeared as a certain solace towards the other five hosts. He is the self proclaimed "King" of the host club. The hosts call him Father (as they call Kyouya Mother). His life (as well as the other hosts) changed when Haruhi Fujioka stumbled into Music Room no. 3. Sealing her deal with the club by crashing into the vase, Tamaki puts most of his attention to her, he genuinely cares for her and practically claims her as his "daughter". He is extremely fascinated by commoner things.

He, however doesn't realize his feelings for Haruhi. This denial is apart of his trauma. He believes that the Host Club is apart of his family, and will do anything to protect it from "breaking up a family" (which was something he learned from his father when he was raised in Japan.)

Tamaki has also recently begun taking part in studying the business side of the Suoh family. To uphold the family tradition, as well as to try to please his grandmother.
